What you need to do
We can help you setup your first web site, with responsive templates that work on PC, MAC, tablets and mobile phones. In order to have your web site published on the internet for the world to see, you need to register your website. If it is a .com.au domain, you will also need to have an ABN, registered your name or a business trading name, and select a website name based around your trading or own name. Here are the steps:
- Register your business name or trading name with ASIC
- Think of a website name based on your registered name. For example, If you were Bob's big tractors, you might choose a domain name like bobstractors.com.au, bigtractors.com.au or bbt.com.au. - Your website will be hosted on a web server, that gives the world access to your website all year round. If you are starting with a simple homepage showcasing yourself, you can visit hosting providers like WIX, that let you register, create and publish all in one place, with hosting plans starting from $5 a month.
- If your after something more, we can create a web site for you, based on pre-existing templates from popular sites. Unlike WIX where you can drag and drop items around the screen, this template option has a higher initial cost, as more hours go into development.
- If you want to setup an online shop to sell goods or services, you have 3 options.
- Choose a hosting platform, we create a basic online shop for you, setup paypal, then either you or us look after the continual stock\product management.
- Or, choose an existing on line shop platform that already exists, such as Shopify or Ebay, and create the products to sell.
- Or, choose the option to create the entire store from scratch. If you are processing over 80 thousand orders an hour, this is the option for you.
